Ahh, what a beautiful reason to head up to New York! Jim's old college buddy, Roger celebrated his wedding to his beautiful bride, Becky, at Sheldrake Point Vineyard in Ovid, NY. The weather cooperated a bit, but it did rain on and off about five times that day. No matter-- there was lots of catching up to do! Most of these people we haven't seen for five years or so. All of the guys got a kick out of Trenton.
Below, Trenton befriended cousin Larry and Becky and Roger's daughter, Brooklyn. The three of them had a wonderful time splashing in the puddles, looking at rainbows, and dancing later that night.
We stayed in a hotel the night of the wedding and then continued our drive up to Pulaski, NY. Pulaski sits on the south-eastern end of Lake Ontario and is the place where Jim and his family vacationed every year.
Here are some great sunset pictures from our first night there.
Mom and Dad Konopack had their camper all set up and were in the middle of their time at Rainbow Shores Campground. We were lucky enough to get a site right next to them and enjoy all the benefits their camper had to offer (like air conditioning!)
Grandma and I kept T busy while the guys went fishing. Trenton is becoming a better mini-golfer... and gamer.
We were blessed with fantastic weather-- apparently it has been raining like crazy in that area, and has continued to do so after we left! Below, T catches some rays.
No joke, Jim must have taken 40 sunset pictures... but it sure was pretty watching it set from this location at the end of the road, not a quarter-mile away from our campground.
On our final day, we spent time at the Konopacks' friends' dock area. We took Grandpack's boat out for a nice ride on the inlet and the lake.
Lots of native birds to keep our eyes busy as we motored on by. Herons and Kingfishers captured here.
We ended our excursion with a little "off the dock" fishing. Trenton caught sunnies and at least one perch.
A really nice mini-vacation! Grandma and Grandpack will continue their trip for another month (check out their blog for updates). We hope they have fun! Thanks for a great time!
