Let's (Parallel) Play!

Today, we hosted our Mom's Club playdate at our house! Trenton woke up from his nap to find three little friends waiting to play. Katie is in the foreground of this picture and Isabelle is with her mom, Gina, in back.

Gabe loved this toy. He kept reaching for the ball through the net, then holding onto it as he put the ball back through the net! Let it go, Gabe! Let it go!
Katie liked reading the pop-up books. All of 'em liked eating books, too.

Tried to get these two to sit in for a picture...
Smile guys! What a great day playing with friends!

Big Snow

Even though these pictures are a bit blurry, I wanted to post them to show how much snow we got! It had fallen the night before (probably about three inches). Trenton likes to hold it but doesn't like to be outside in the cold for too long.

The cardinal was hanging out in our backyard the day before the snowfall.

And this picture was taken after Mommy got a new haircut!

Eleven Months Old

Trenton is eleven months old today. In these pictures, you can see him opening a present from our friends Jane, Rob, and Jack. Jane used to work at Stratton with Mommy when we lived in Illinois, and she helped throw a memorable baby shower for us out there.

Jane's gift idea was very creative. She wrapped 12 gifts for us to open on each one month birthday of baby's first year.

Needless to say, we've really enjoyed opening a small gift each month on the 27th!

Trenton had a great time with the stacking blocks that were part of this gift. He loves to knock them down.

Tarrytown, Here We Come!

Our friend Andrea lives in Tarrytown, NY. That is right over the Tappan Zee Bridge and on the Hudson. It is beautiful! We began by going to the Warner Library (right across the street from her apartment) and hanging out in the kid-friendly children's section.
Then we went to dinner at an authentic Mexican restaurant. The waiter actually made the guacamole in front of you and to your liking! Trenton didn't like the guac much, but he did have a blast licking the spoon.
And then there was the sweet potatoes the next day at lunch... didn't care for them too much.
We took a trip to the Palisades Center Mall. That place is so big, it should have it's own zip code! Four stories of fun... and Trenton slept through most of our shopping.
We had a great weekend excursion-- thanks again, Aunt Red! See you soon!

Food, Glorious Food

Well, I thought we were done with the bag. But tonight he decided that he wanted to chow down on an apple. He broke through the skin, and then pitched a fit when I took it away. But he happily sucked and gummed on the fruit once I gave it back to him in the feeder bag.

Dinner was interesting. Fruit and veggies somehow found their way into his hair, on his eyebrow, and all over his face (not to mention the runny nose). To appreciate the full affect of this scene, click on the picture above to enlarge it.

The Squirrels Are Coming! The Squirrels Are Coming!

The darn birds keep thrashing all the seeds aside when they eat from the feeder. The squirrels are smart, though, and they eat what is left over on the ground. I thought we'd see what would happen if we put some bread out for the squirrels today.
When I went to throw the bread out, the thing was so close to the door, I thought it was going to jump inside! It didn't, but it was still very friendly, and not the least bit afraid of us.
Trenton got a kick out of watching the squirrel eat right outside our window. He loves watching squirrels outside windows.

Band-Aid, Schmand-Aid!

Trenton had a pretty nasty scratch on his hand. It wasn't bleeding, but was definitely susceptible to getting dirt and germs in it. So we used one of his Care Bear Band Aids to cover it up.

Yeah... what was I thinking?! It lasted all of two minutes, I'd say.

Daddy had a cut on his finger, too, and tried to show T how we keep Band-Aids on. But he wasn't having any of that today.

After Dinner Play

Ahh! That hour between dinner and bath time... I'd say it is one of Trenton's favorite times of day. Jim and I are both home, and he absolutely loves the attention he gets from both of us. We fill up the hour with lots of playing. Today he was totally into the football (fitting, as his shirt was a football onesie!) In the second picture, he has Jim's dirty running socks (yes!!) and the remote control.

He also totally is into his farm that he got for Christmas. Each of the animals have hair or fur, and the corresponding parts of the barn make animal noises. He had it figured out on day one! I'm trying to teach him to open up the door of the silo to get out the animals that I hide inside. It's a little tricky, though.

Pics from Uncle Len

My brother sent us some pictures he had taken with his camera. The top one was taken a few weeks ago at Grandma and Grandpa Lacina's home. The bottom one is of the Lacina family at my mom's brother's house. If you look closely, you can tell we are all looking at different cameras!

Meeting Madeline

Saturday Morning Fun

Our Mom's Meet Up group decided to go to Barnes and Noble for an awesome storytime today. Madeline was there!

Trenton and his buddy Gabe got a real kick out of the costumed story character. T could not take his eyes off of her shoes. He kept waving at her, too!

This is how I keep him busy each morning while I get ready after my shower! No, he does not know how to put them back in after he's done!

Out and About

Today we began by taking a trip to Great Grandma Lacina's house. Grandpa Lacina was in the process of painting some of the upstairs rooms in her home. We came to keep her company.

Trenton loves to walk with Grandma's cane! We also really enjoyed watching a particularly lucky episode of The Price is Right. Each contestant that made it to the stage won, they gave away three cars, and one guy won an extra $500 for guessing within a few dollars of the actual cost. All of this is really strange to be happening in one show...
Later that afternoon, we drove to Mike and Elaine's place for dinner. Trenton is posing here with the guys.
We played a few poor rounds of Jenga... either we weren't paying too close attention, or we were just not too smart about choosing our pieces... either way, we still had a great night out at the Maggi's house.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

When we woke up this morning, there was a significant snowfall on the ground.
So Daddy and T got outside as soon as they could!
Too bad it didn't stick around for long.
