Garden State Discovery Museum

If you live in the Philly/South Jersey area and you haven't been here already, NOW IS THE TIME TO GO! We are so glad to have made the trip to the Garden State Discovery Museum. It is right in Cherry Hill and offers tons of different hands-on exhibits appropriate for ages one to eight, I'd guess. We met up with the Bluesteens, including Grandpa and Aunt Erica and Uncle Keith. Shairna was right to observe that, for once, there were more adults than kids on this outing! Ha!

Fishing for... fish, I guess ;)
Turtles in a giant tank.

Giant wall puzzle above, giant bubble below! The kids got a real kick out of standing in the center of this circle and then using the pulley system to raise the hula-hoop. Marcus was very successful!

Lots of areas of the museum were sponsored by local businesses and venues. This area was replicated after a diner. Too cool-- the 'line' in the kitchen, with lots of food, allowed for Daddy and T to prepare some nice meals!

Above, T gives Justin a taco. Below, Jim serves Uncle Keith up some hotcakes.

The sport area was neat, too. Jim took full advantage of the half-court, 5 foot net. There was also a kid-sized hockey rink, mini-golf areas, and a climbing wall.

Local Action 6 News had an area that looked a lot like a real news room! T works the camera, above... there was a news desk and room for two anchors to sit and report. Then there was another area with a blue-screen background, where you could pick what they'd play as scenery and watch it on the screen. Trenton sits with lions!

Above, T walks through the spider web (it had bells on it that you were supposed to avoid hitting).

This GIANT operation table used salad tongs and buzzed (just like the real game) if you hit the sides! Too cool! Look at his face as he uses the scope to listen to baby's heartbeat. The lab coat was so cute and just his size.

T was very excited to see real X-rays in the veterinarian section of the museum. We talk about X-rays a lot, as they keeps coming up in his kid books. Neat to see it up close and for real. Below, the gravity room had a neat pendulum and some lava lamps, as well as molecule structures. T liked the magnet.

We're definitely going to have to come back to this place... maybe for his 4th birthday? Nice to know that there was so much to do, we could have stayed another two hours.
