Biking to Ocean Grove

The plan for today was to get to the beach early, take the bikes for a ride, and enjoy some sand and surf during lunchtime... we changed it up a little.

Although we got there at 8:20, we still had to park a block from the beach! It is an absolutely GORGEOUS day, and Labor Day weekend, so that is actually not so bad. We began biking north from Avon, into Bradley Beach, and up to Ocean Grove. They were having a huge craft fair there and we took the time to walk around. Downtown Ocean Grove is an amazing gem and we are glad that we found out about it. Quaint Victorian homes, shops, Main Street... you name it. You can bet we'll be visiting this area a lot in the future. We also stopped at the playground on Bradley Beach and had lunch at Maclearie Park overlooking the bay. We didn't actually set foot on the sand at all today... but that's okay! There were plenty of other people doing it, and we've had lots of chances to do so this summer.

So does Labor Day really mean that the summer is over? As far as we are concerned-- NO!

Hi Sheryl,

We came back from the beach and now I know what you are writing about!
It was great beach and fun to walk on the beach as well as board walk!
I wish we live closer to the beach!

You look great in the helmet by the way :-)
