My First Met Game

On Saturday we drove up to Hoboken and had a delicious brunch with Kim and Bob. Above, Trenton holds Kim's souvenir bull whip.

Too cute.... 11/11 can't come fast enough! They are eagerly awaiting the wedding day (for Kim, the trip to Panama afterwards) and have just broken ground for their new home to be built in Milford, PA.

You can see the construction of the new Citi Field (opening 2009) on the right. That's where we used to park and tailgate!

With a sleeping Trenton in tow, we made our way to Gate D. The lines were HUGE. Somehow, we didn't get there as early as we wanted to (see the entry for the Yankee fiasco)... I don't get it! It was bucket hat day, and we didn't get one of those, either :(
Rumor has it that they may be trying to get rid of the Mets Home Run Apple-- a travesty! Go here to make sure that doesn't happen.
That's David Wright with the high blue socks.

I think Trenton's eyes have changed color-- they used to be very blue, but now are green, too.

Mr. Met was out in full force and Pedro Martinez pitched six strong innings, but the Mets still lost to the Phillies. Trenton did really well sitting on my lap until about the eighth inning. Then we took him inside to walk around... and I bought him a souvenir bat. Sweet!

After a full subway ride on the #7 train, we got off and walked a few blocks to our PATH station stop. On the way, we passed the Chrysler Building and got some hot roasted almonds. Trenton is shown here sliding down the pole on the train. Yes, I Purelled his hands afterwards ;)

We made it to North Brunswick in time to see baby Nicholas awake during his Christening party. He is such a cutie-- getting so big! My cousin Robyn and her husband Joe are really enjoying their new roles as parents.
