Although we live in Monmouth County, we are really on the border of Ocean County, too. Lakewood and Jackson are just one town over. I had heard that Jackson had a fantastic library program and headed over earlier this month to check it out. It is a nice, modern facility. They run a toddler story time every three weeks or so and they had no problem with me signing up! I was also able to get an Ocean County library card (they have some sort of agreement worked out between them and Monmouth County). Very cool!Today we met up with our friends Isabelle and Candace for story time. We sang songs, read a few books, and Ms. Mimi did a few stories on the felt storyboard. Trenton was bold enough to go to the front of the room and dance during one song!
He had fun running around the playground until it was time for lunch... he pitched a mega-fit when I would not let him self-feed the yogurt. It was going to be too messy! So he cried, and cried, and cried... in the stroller, in the car, all the way home... until we got on Rt. 9 and he fell asleep. Poor kid. He slept for two hours, though! After I blog this, I'll put him in his high-chair and he can be as sloppy with the yogurt as he wants ;)
