Fairy Tales and Fables

Point Pleasant Beach was hosting a Fairy Tales and Fables event for the kids today, so I decided to take Trenton. There was a costume parade as well as other craft stuff, and folks from Medieval Times were there. After thinking about the theme, I figured I'd give a stab at dressing him as Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk... I myself went as The Giant. Trenton had a hat that said "Jack" (and was consequently called Jack for the day by strangers), a clear bag with beans in it, and a bat decorated with string beans and corn husks.

It was cute to see all the kids dressed up, although some of them seemed to just have donned their favorite Halloween costume. The winners were a Disney princess, Little Mermaid, Spongebob, and Buzz Lightyear. The judging was done by Radio Disney-- anyone see a little connection here? I'm proud to say I did not sell out to the Disney crowd. We had several people tell us that our outfits were really creative and that we should have won. Ha!

Afterwards, we took a quick ride on the train (I only paid the meeter 10 quarters-- 1.5 hrs!) and headed on over to Manasquan. We had dinner at Hink's Turkey Farm (I totally recommend it) and then checked out the animals at Atlantic Farm next door. The goat was crazy-- eating the wood off of the fence! Trenton got a kick out of crowing with the roosters.
