Today we drove to Lake Hopatcong in northwestern New Jersey with my parents. Dad has been working on fixing the boat for over a week and we were eager to get out on it! We have water skis as well as a water tube. We even purchased a new life vest for Trenton so that he could enjoy the boat, too.

Lake Hopatcong is the largest lake in New Jersey. The water was so warm and very clean. We tubed and skied, then ate lunch, drove around a bit and looked at lake houses, and then skied some more.

Believe it or not, Trenton was actually able to nap with his life vest on! We had practiced wearing it at home a few times before the actual trip. He was a pro.

That's me, above, on the tube... and Jim below on skis. Our goal was to get up on one ski, which is a lot harder than it looks.

Before it was time to head back, we took Trenton into the lake with us. It was so hot and we figured he'd enjoy it. He lasted a few minutes; didn't scream too much, but definitely wanted to be back in the boat.
