Kickapoo State Park is now a campground and recreational park but in the past it was used as a rock quarry. This area has now been filled in with water and makes for a fantastic backdrop for a picture.
It had poured during a thunderstorm the second night there. We were fine in the tent and thankfully Trenton slept through it all.
Although our plans were to stay her for three nights we would end up staying with friends for the final night. Hopefully this will not be our last stay at this beautiful foresty-oasis in Illinois!
