Trenton's Second First Haircut

I finally sucked it up and took him to the mall to get his hair cut FOR REAL today. I was tired of having to bribe him with candy to sit still and being angry when he moved... and the last time, I snipped his ear. Plus we are having the 4th of July party soon, and I want him to look guuuud. So, we tried the mall.

Lookin' just fine here, right? I didn't tell him we were going to get a haircut. He was excited to get in the chair and watch the TV, but once the buzzer went on, it was all over. Lollipops, cookies, any sort of distraction-- didn't work. Poor kid was shaking, crying, screaming "I'm scared!" most of the time. When the buzzer was off, it was a little easier to distract him. I felt bad but the lady was persistent. I told her I didn't care if he cried-- I had him there so that he could get a better haircut than I could do at home, and I'd comfort him as much as possible while she cut away.

I wanted the front long still. He likes to play with it as he falls asleep, it covers up his scar, and the two cowlicks could be insane if not hidden. But the back is the 'big' difference, I guess. Thanks to the buzzer...

Then it was time for silly faces with Daddy.

Went to the midwife this week. Heartbeat is 135 and I've gained 6 lbs! The crazy thing with that is, though, that she first weighed me when I was at 12 wks. So, I'd double that number for accuracy at this point ;) We also learned that the placenta is at the front of my uterus. May help explain why we only feel him kick on the sides and down low. He kicks me in the butt (literally) all the time, too. I can remember T doing that but not this often. Feeling good, lots of appetite, and trying to exercise more and more. My class is over in a few weeks, and then I should be back to blogging pretty consistently. Sorry to all those folks out there who were missing out on regular posts!

Oh you look awesome!!! I'm glad you are feeling well too! Trenton looks so handsome with his new haircut! It must be so hard to cut a toddler's head of hair! Libby constantly leans away ... and that's just with shears, no buzzer. I cannot imagine with the buzzer! She hates the sound of the vacuum! Looks like Trenton did well with it though... he still has two ears. ;)

You look great!! I was surprised by the differences in my pregnancies/labor and, eventually, babies and now I have to fight the urge to compare the girls.
As for haircuts, I am glad Alexandra's hair is so curly that you don't realize how long it is or that it's cut unevenly!
